The collision happened on Wednesday, Sept. 25 just before 4:15 p.m., when a woman was fatally struck by a utility box truck while crossing North Avenue at the intersection with Lockwood Avenue, according to New Rochelle Police.
The woman, who police have not yet identified, was taken to Montefiore Emergency Room and pronounced dead.
North Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic between Lincoln Avenue and Garden Street on Wednesday evening as the department investigated the crash.
The driver of the utility box truck that struck the woman provided a statement and was released, police said.
